WP-Custom CSS plugin?

linkPost by dnuttall » Mon Sep 10, 2018 2:29 pm

Does anyone know what tool/plugin with FireFox (Windows) to use when trying to figure out what can be entered in the Tips & Tricks WP-Custom CSS plugin?

For example, the following removes the author and date/time stamp of posts and pages, but a small "clock" icon remains and can't get rid of it.
.entry-date { display: none !important; }
.fa-fa-clock-o {  display: none !important; }
The .entry-date works, but the clock does not.

FireFox "web-developer tools" let you see what everything is called, but I don't understand what to do in this case where the icon seems to be a child of something.

TIA.

Hello Dave,

Not sure why this is about WP-Custom CSS but aren't you trying to hide the post date using CSS?
If that's the case, here is the CSS code you are looking for (the clock icon and time is wrapped by a span with the class .posted):
.post-info .posted {
	display: none !important;
}

I just mentioned WP-Custom CSS because that's what seemed realistic for modifying CSS without messing with theme.

THANKS for the response.

You're welcome :)

The WP customizer has a dedicated section called Additional CSS for custom CSS. And it's tied to the current theme.

No need to use any third-party plugin.

If I enqueue styles from my plugin, then it loads after theme's styles.
That's why some CSS of my plugin is overriding by theme's CSS.
This problem would be fixed if I can ensure my plugin's styles load after theme's styles.
