How am I able to adjust my featured image so that on my homepage it is not cut off in the post thumbnail? I have attached an image from my mobile, the thumbnail appears the same on my computer as well. Thanks so much!

Hi Ashley,

Thanks for using RedWaves lite :D

By design, the theme is set to crop your featured images, if necessary, to generate thumbnails in specific dimensions. You can easily alter this behavior by making a simple change inside the theme functions.php file.

Here is how to do it. Locate the functions.php file using CPanel file manager or any FTP client. It will be located in the root folder where RedWaves lite is installed (/wp-content/themes/redwaves-lite).

Once you find it, open it using a code editor (Cpanel has one) and find this line of code (line 146):
add_image_size( 'smallfeatured', 298, 248, true ); //small featured
You just need to change true to false:
add_image_size( 'smallfeatured', 298, 248, false ); //small featured
This will only affect the featured images that appear when the first display layout is selected (which is the default one).

If you don't want any of your thumbnails to be cropped, do the same to the other sizes (big, small and tiny).
By the way, these thumbnails are generated from your original images. Your original images will not be edited or resized.

Finally, you should regenerate your thumbnails in order for this change to affect your already uploaded images. Luckily, you don't need to do this manually. You can use this simple plugin
